Mark your calendars! The long-awaited pieces created from our photographers' photographs will be revealed at the General Membership Meeting on January 16th from 4PM - 5:30PM at the Skidaway Community Church. This is the culmination of the Photo Interpretation Event that began this summer and paired LAA artists with LAA photographers. Two artists were each given the same photograph to interpret in their respective mediums, and the results, as well as the photos, are fabulous! So come support the 30 members who took part in this event, learn a little about their techniques, and enjoy refreshments and the company of other artists at our Membership Meeting on the 16th! And remember - our Membership Meetings are open to your family and friends - everyone is welcome! |

ARTIST OF THE MONTH COCKTAIL RECEPTION On Thursday, January 4th from 5 PM to 6:30 PM our LAA/Sound View Artist of the Month Gallery at the Palmetto Club will once again be hosting its regular monthly cocktail reception! There will be a wine & beer bar set up on the patio near the pro shop that will accept both member numbers and credit cards. This month we'll be featuring the artwork of Nedra Weaver on the wall along with Daryl Nicholson and Diane Gannon in the case. Also, check out a brand-new display of artwork in our LAA/Sound View Member Gallery. |

Congratulations to LAA photographer Jim Guerard, whose image "Morning Light" just won "The Black and White Award" as the best black and white image at the 2023 International Landscape Photographer of the Year Awards in Sydney, Australia. This is a worldwide competition with tens of thousands of entries! If you have received recognition for your artwork outside of the LAA, we would like to acknowledge you! Our GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS with speakers/presenters will now take place on Tuesday afternoons from 4:00 to 5:30 PM at the Skidaway Community Church. Our remaining meetings will take place on January 16th, March 19th and May 21st. Mark your calendars! Our VIRTUAL GALLERY on Facebook will offer a $50 monthly cash prize, now in the form of a RANDOM GIVEAWAY. A winner will be chosen using Google's Random Generator and announced on the LAA Challenge page. Those members posting 2 pieces per month (max allowed) will have double the chance of winning. And remember - each piece you post is being seen by over 530 artists and art appreciators! Our monthly Artist of the Month COCKTAIL RECEPTIONS at Palmetto will include a wine & beer bar that will now accept both member numbers AND credit cards!
