Meal Deals and Food Offers 

It's the Western Breeze Festival this coming weekend. Expect stalls offering a wide variety of food, arts and crafts, gifts, and more; live music from C&C Band; entertainment for the kids; and a friendly, Welcoming vibe. Come on down - we'll be there, so come say Hi!

There is a new Executive Lunch deal at ME Colombo: a three-course lunch for Rs1,500. You can choose a starter, main course and dessert from the Executive Lunch menu, which is available Monday to Friday, from 12.00 midday to 3.00pm.

And some more news from ME Colombo; this Saturday, 12 November they will host a Mediterranean Dinner Buffet with a range of Mediterranean dishes and delicacies. It's on Saturday evening and is priced at Rs4,200 per person.

Galle Face Hotel have recently introduced a "Chilli Breeze" dinner at The Verandah restaurant on Friday evenings. They say there are 100 dishes, inspired by the cuisines of Sri Lanka, India and Japan. The cost is Rs5900 per person.

This Sunday, 13 November, the Granbell Hotel are offering a High Tea Buffet in their All-Day Dining restaurant on the 9th Floor. The High Tea is on from 3.00pm to 5.30pm and will cost Rs3,500 per person.

Do you like to enjoy your breakfast late? After all, what's wrong with breakfast in the afternoon? Well, Coffee Colombo now offer an All Day Sri Lankan Breakfast. You can enjoy egg roti, pol roti or paratha with sambal and chicken or crab and they are open from 8.00am to 11.00pm.

Drinks Deals

Friday is the 11th November, which means that the date is 11.11 or four singles. That's why it is "Singles Day".

We've searched but, to our surprise, have not found any Singles Day event. Of course, it is not the morning of the 11th yet so we might find that there are loads of events announced on the morning - and we will take the credit and say it was our idea! :) :) :)

So big shout out to Grand Slam by Mitsi who have announced a pizza and beer combo, especially for Friday 11th. Two Margharita pizzas and a 2.5L beer tower, all for the price of Rs6,469. So, you can share the beer but have your own pizza!

Ladies: It's Thirsty Thursday at Zouk and you can enjoy free cocktails from 8.00pm to 11.00pm. And it's free entrance for ladies and couples, too.

Live Music and DJs

This weekend promises to be big for music, there's a lot happening.

Let's start with the C Rugby After Party at CR&FC grounds on Saturday 12th. When the matches are over, the after party will kick off with four bands on stage - Slipping Chairs, Magic Box Mixup, Rugrats and Link. There will also be music from DJs Clifford Issac, Wendell, Lunatics and Roshane Sax. The event starts at midday and the music starts after the final whistle.

This Saturday The Ultimate Band Show features Doctor, Daddy, 2Forty2, Taxi, Line One & Midlane - plus a surprise guest - at Viharamahavadevi Theatre, starting from 5.30pm. And as if that's not enough, there's "Bang Bang" featuring BNS, Wasthi, Jaya Sri, Kanchana and Centrigradz on stage with Infinity at the Lotus Tower Outdoor Arena from 7.00pm.

The Western Breeze Festival on Friday and Saturday will also have live music bth nights from the C&C Live Band.

Big ones next Friday are Wayo at the Lake with Chithral, Jaya Sri, Umara & Sanuka, at Cinnamon Lakeside; "Inspo" featuring six performers with MidLane.

Next Saturday, there's heavy metal with "Headbang Theory" featuring six of the leading bands: Trishira, Sevexth, Whirlwind, Abyss, Blind Effect & Genetic Fallacy. The gig is at Oii by the Villuwa in Ja Ela and there is a bus transport from Colombo - book in advance! Also next Saturday, the Pink Fest at Havelock Sports Club features Senaka, Chithral and Athma with the band Taxi.

EDM and DJ Music: this Saturday night, "Bullet" at Mount Lavinia features DJs Melodic Son, Code 81 and eleven more. Also on Saturday, "Frequency" with Shanil Alox, Lahiru and seven more DJs will be on at King Keshiyong, Dehiwala.

Base Lounge nightclub have a Mongolian Night this Friday, with action BBQ, from 7.00pm - ladies walk in free.

Next week, Kava Bar are hosting "Big City Lights" with DJ TT fron Bangalore along with four local DJs and Nish on Sax.

Other Events

If you're following the cricket, it is the World Cup Finals this Sunday and The Re.pub.lk are screening it live, along with a BBQ brunch and live music from Cold Sweat. This starts at 11.30am,

Paradise Road Galleries are hosting a new exhibition of art by J C Rathnayake titled "Metamorphosis". The exhibition will be opened with an exclusive preview on Thursday 10 November from 6.00pm to 8.00pm and will continue to 12 December.

Barista are hosting a Blood Donation Day at their Mount Lavinia outlet on Friday 11 November from 9.00am to 3.00pm. It is easy and quick and can save a life. Thank you, Barista for organising this and we urge everyone who can go and contribute.

It's Karaoke Night this Friday at Cuisine Colombo in Senanayake Mawatha). You are invited to BYOB (in fact maybe you are even encouraged to, if you need a couple of glasses to get you to sing!) it starts at 7.00pm.

One for the young chefs: Cakery Bliss are conducting two classes for kids this Saturday: first for 5 years and up, making an Oreo cookie brownie, which will be from 11.00am to 12.30pm. Then from 12.40 to 3.00pm it's making a baked chicken roti, which is for kids 7 years and above. Each class costs Rs2,000.

Greenvesto are holding a Food Fest this weekend, on Saturday and Sunday, with food stalls, DJ, fun and live cricket. This is in the Racecourse from 4.00pm both Saturday and Sunday.

And looking ahead to next weekend, the Island Market will be back, in the Araliya Car Park from 11.00am to 7.00pm with stalls from an array of small businesses.
