Smiley's Rescues Happenings

October 4th

By: Adriane Cooper & Sid Williams

This is Bear, he's approx. 1-2 years old and he's sweet and adventurous. He gets along well with other cats, dogs, kids and is looking for his forever home!

Thank you all for tuning in and for your support! We had 3 animals total get adopted in the month of September! If you remember Cedar, Luna, and Calvin(dog), then let's congratulate them on their new adventures!!!

This month we have been working HARD! We still have the 4 tiny's (TJ, Piper, Ella, Gretta) available for adoption at the beginning of November, along with those guys we took in another litter of 6 kittens (Bonnie, Clyde, Freddy, Jason, Chuckie, Scream), who will also be available for adoption at the beginning of November! If you know of anyone wanting to adopt, please send them our way! I would be lying if I said we weren't overwhelmed with the number of kittens we have right now!

We still have Gizmo, Pumpkin, Hal, and Jack available for adoption, but they are in foster homes!

This month we tried to promote our TNR program as much as possible! We got 4 more adult cats fixed and returned them back to their owners! This ensures they will live a happy life and won't produce any more litters!

We are getting the moms of both litters fixed here soon at the beginning of October! We had a surprise Mama cat show up at the rescue as well, Jordan's brother found her by the river in Grand Forks, ND. She is very pregnant when I am writing this! We will update you when she delivers!

We have a vendor show coming up on Oct 15th @ the Winger Community Center from 10am-2pm! Come meet Bear and some kittens!

OR

We are also adding OPEN HOURS for the rescue welcoming people to walk in on

Tuesday's: 4-6pm

Sunday's: 1-3pm

Or BY APPT

It's possible we will add more hours but please be patient with me as I still work my other jobs to help support the Rescue so this is what I was able to offer at this time.

Thank you!

All the kittens!!! They will be ready for adoption in early November.

How to help this month:

In October our biggest expense will be getting all of the kittens spayed, neutered, and vaccinated. We are very grateful to Minn-kota PAAWS for their services in offering a lower cost option for spaying and neutering. They are a wonderful local non-profit to support if you are able!

We couldn't do this without you!

100% of our donations go directly to animal care! Right now we are still 100% volunteer-run and have no paid positions.

We are working to make the director position be able to paid very part-time by early 2023 - this will allow Sid (the director) to do more animal transport for the TNR program (which I am thinking of calling our "Spaycation" program! What do you think?). Sid works REALLY hard to make all of this possible, and she could do so much more here for the rescue if she could work less at her other jobs. You will always know right where your donation goes no matter what! If you want to donate just towards animal care - that will ALWAYS be possible!

THANK YOU!
