🌺 An Evening to Celebrate 🌺 |
We are so grateful and proud to work with Professor Tracey Reynolds and to be one of the project partners showcased at the launch of the Institute for Inclusive Communities and Environments at University of Greenwich. Professor Tracey Reynolds has been an invaluable support, guide, inspiration, and fellow member with us at Creating Ground over the years. She has been pivotal in our growth as an organisation and always encourages us to go further! |

At the end of January we met with Greenwich council to discuss the findings of the Wifi pilot scheme, which was made possible thanks to Good Things Foundation who have been offering free mobile data SIM cards across the UK. |
It's been a positive first step working with the council and their digital inclusion team on this. We know there are still many people who are not being reached due to the many barriers migrants face including language barriers. We hope to help the council in finding more solutions and we remain determined to work on Temporary Accommodation notice periods as a large part of our #NoticeUs campaign. We are hopeful and look forward to more positive collaborations with the council. Thanks to Trust for London and Citizens UK for all their support. |

🌟 Speaking at an APPG in Parliament 🌟 |
Some of our Stronger Together Leaders, along with members of LRMN, Citizens UK and RAMP, went to speak at an All-Party Parliamentary Party Group (APPG) meeting for migration and poverty. |
"The meeting was a powerful meeting, it was great to see people from the community and people with lived experience have their say and voice heard in Parliament. Working together with MPs is a great way to shape effective policies and this is how we can build a positive and fairer system. Listening to people is a key element to make positive changes in our societies." (Stronger Together Leader, January 2024) |

Thanks to Greenwich Mental Health Hub we are now in our second term of Creativity for Wellbeing and we have had such beautiful feedback from the activities we've been doing. This project always reminds us of the power of art, the power of creativity and the power of being together. |
"When I finished my art, I felt quite emotional, my life has many ups and downs, however, when I put the colour, I immediately recognised that my life also has had a lot of positive and happy things. Thank you for this wellbeing project, I certainly believe I can improve my wellbeing, there always are more solutions than problems, I will try to look at the bright side all the time and help others.” (Project participant, January 2024) |

Thanks to the support from Plumcroft Primary School we started a parenting project at the school and we're looking for more migrant mothers to join us! It's a great opportunity to: -- Meet other migrant mothers -- Share experiences -- Discuss parenting skills -- Learn new creative skills |

We had the first session of Mums Together as part of the Be Well Hubs at Brookhill Children's Centre. The hub is for migrant women who are pregnant or have recently had a baby to connect with other mums, share experiences and find some time for ourselves. One of the mums said about her art, "it represents the connection that mothers establish with our children, a connection that will always be". We are looking for more migrant women to join the group so please email Laura at info@theground.org.uk if you know anyone who would benefit from this group. |
