It's been awhile...but there hasn't been a lot of things happening up until recently. I apologize for the length of this one, in advance. |

I'm still enjoying my time as the Office Manager of the Recording Musicians Association - Los Angeles (RMALA). I still have some things to learn, as they happen, but over all the last five (5) months have been a blast! Even though I'm the only person within my office, I have colleagues within the building I have started to get to know. My boss(es) - the Board of Directors, are accommodating and are supportive in my growth within RMA. They've also been patient with my learning curve, as I learn about unions and how they work, along with American Federation of Musicians (AFM) and Local 47. Due to mental health and mental stability, I am only doing UberEats alongside RMA, but once the new year comes around I plan on trying to find another part-time job. I have some debt I'd like to get paid off, since I was four (4) months without a steady paycheck and the money I was making was going straight to rent and surviving. |

I moved again, into a more permanent location in Southwestern Los Angeles, near the LAX airport, as my first location was temporary from March until September. I am forever grateful for my former boss at the bowling alley for connecting me with his sister, since she was going to be out of the country for the first six (6) months I was in town. |

Many of you know how much I love the Christmas season, so this is definitely a happy time for me. I have my décor up (even though it's small) and I have been listening to Holiday music since November 1st. |

When given the option to go home for Thanksgiving or Christmas, I chose Thanksgiving this year. I got to see my favorite uncle (who lives in Florida), along with the rest of the Missouri family. OH. MY. WORD! My welcome home from the airport was all I could have asked for in a welcome home. My mom brought my niece, and as soon as she saw me she ran into my arms! She grew up so much (developmentally) within the eight (8) months I've been gone and I was hard to say goodbye. I also got to see some of my other people: bowlers, friends, etc. even though it was limited. For Christmas, this year, I've been invited out to a friend's house in Arizona! If time allows, we will go to the Grand Canyon - which will be a first for me! |

My office (RMA) had a Holiday Party at the beginning of December with members and industry colleagues. It wasn't a Pink & White Lady Classic or a Bass Pro Tournament of Champions, when it came to planning, but there were still a couple bumps in the road. I had a lot of fun planning it with the Events Committee. |

Since it won't be until 2024 until I send out another newsletter, which I promise won't be five (5) months later. Shorter news updates from now on... Some plans within the half: Join a couple societies, so I can start going to networking events and screenings Go back home and visit family again
Make a few trips to Las Vegas, as my bowlers are in a tournament there and since I can't always go home when I need, I'll have to settle for small road trips to see my support group and support them (April - July)

Colin Hay, front man for Men at Work. He did a small music set with pianist Jeff Babko. He performed "Down Under" in his set. I was able to talk to him a little bit before the event, and he's a really nice guy! Also...I knew he was Scottish and Australian, but I wasn't expecting a Scottish-Australian accent. Mostly Australian, but there are words which ended up with the Scottish flare. Photo Credit: Jeff Babko (with my phone) |

Blake Neely, composer Blake was our special guest, and he was "interviewed" by Jeff Babko. Might have even gained a "wingman" of sorts with Blake! He told me if we were ever at the same events he'd help me get connected. Photo Credit: Sherri Chung (with my phone) |

Damon Tedesco It's always good to see him, and I learned a lot from him and Fletcher Beasley whenever I took their MIDI mixing, editing and recording class in Spring 2021. It's always nice to see former teachers, and stay connected to them, especially when they are now industry colleagues. I've been able to ask questions and get advice since being in the different classes I took at UCLA Extension. |
