President's Message

Spring time - my favorite time of year! There are lots of shop hops and quilt shows going on so hope very one finds something they like.

Spring time also brings retreats and workshops for everyone to enjoy. Our next retreat is March 24th- 25th. Please see further information below. There are some great workshops planned.

Please consider giving to the Friends of the Mighty Food Bank.

They do wonderful things for our community.

Happy birthday to our March members - Tammy, Vanda, Theresa and Rhonda - and anyone else I may have missed.

May you have a wonderful birthday!

It is time for elections again and your input and opinion matter. A nomination form will be provided to all members to complete and return to Elaine by the end of the meeting.

Don't forget to spring forward your clock this Sunday.

Do something that makes someone else feel good and happy.

Charity Quilts

Since I received several inquiries during our January round table sessions, we will have a raffle of the 50" square nine patch quilt I used to demonstrate the clapper. The finished quilt will be displayed at the February and March general meetings. Any member interested can buy a raffle ticket for $10.00. The winning ticket will be drawn at the March 13th general meeting, the monies raised will go into our general fund.

Twenty-nine quilts and three pillowcases were delivered to our agencies in February for an in-kind value of $1475.00. Excellent response and the donations included so many cute offerings.

For those interested in seeing what happens the third Monday of each month, come join us at the City of Gainesville/Alachua County Senior Recreation Center, 5701 NW 34 Blvd. 32653. We start at 10 AM and finish at 2 PM. Bring a bag lunch, your sewing machine, and any charity project you might be working on. If you do not want to carry a heavy machine, some hand sew on bindings, or cut fabric, it is all good.

Anyone with questions or in need of a project quilt kit, please let me know.

Sharon Fuentes, sfuentes10204@aol.com 386-418-1002

Thank you all for your dedication to others in need.
