A word from Our Captain.

It is already May. Wow! Where has this year gone. May is Spring, and this month is all about the Water’s Lodge.

Waters Lodge, in conjunction with your Apprentice Leadership, is already planning the Water’s Lodge Celebration which will happen on Saturday, May 21, 2022. One of the greatest privileges I have as Captain is to be able to be a part of this Celebration as an interviewer of those Waters who have earned 100% in their courses since the last Celebration. There will be an all school shout out during the announcements, but the Waters Lodge Members will have their own time during the celebration.

The success of our last open Leadership meeting brought on a renewed interest in Apprentice participation through recognition and empowerment. Your Apprentice Leadership will continue the shout-outs for course and assignment completions, and 100% course completions are taking a new vigor. 

The Captain’s Challenge this month is worth one point for Attendance and one point for having asked a question during the upcoming ppen Leadership meeting on Sunday, May 15 5-6pm PDT on Discord and vGSW Asslemblium.

Congrats to Apprentice Medea, Apprentice Abbie and Apprentice Mason Cunninghare, For earning 4 points for Flames and 2 points For Stones Lodges respectivly in April. Huzzah!

Happy May, Waters!

Firmly under Taurus’ influence, this month brings us an opportunity to chill. Good friends, good conversation and plenty of rest and relaxation… that’s got May written all over it!

Speaking of that rest and relaxation…If you haven’t already visited our virtual lodge on VGSW, I invite you to do so! Inside, you’ll find some wonderful new furnishings including an amazing meditation space and a scrying bowl! Yes, really! We’ll also be hosting the lodge celebration this month and as you might imagine, there’s lots to do! We still need a few more workshops, so if you’ve ever thought “I’d love to teach/show/talk about XYZ,” here’s your chance! (Psst… I’ll even help you work out a topic!)

The Circle of the Standing Stones  

Happy Sunny May, my dear fellow Stones! “May” the sun enlightens you.

Before anything else and the most important… Happy Birthday to Apprentices Jkr, PurpleMoon, Malachai, Deanie, Cynblue Firerose, Rakkel, Iris Indum, Peri, MasterWooson, Obsidian Ravenmoon, Marcos Lindenshield, Astra, Talesmenta, and, Me!

We greet the Taurus and Gemini due to the position of Jupiter and Venus in the tenth house, the energies will be productive and in favor professional opportunities.

Some events that will bring several changes in our realm here on Earth.
On the 5th and 6th Eta Aquariids Meteor shower. May 16, a total lunar eclipse visible in Americas, Africa, and French Polynesia. Also, this eclipse will occur during a full Moon in Scorpio. Scorpio represents death and transformation.
Which calls us to release the past for a new beginning.

Our Monthly Challenge is one that will for sure help you to change certain perceptions. Also, our Greet and Meet  will be on the 25th at 6pm EST.

The Order of the
Dancing Flames

Greetings Flames! 

 May strikes up childhood memories for me and I see it as a signal to spend time outdoors and start making plans for summer. Personally, my days start with cold mornings caused by forgetting to turn the fireplace back on from the warmer temperatures the day before. Additionally, we start to see some of the fruits of our labor spring to life with the first blooms of our Spring perennials. At this point, many of us have seen the last frost of the winter, especially once we roll from Taurus to Gemini season.  

 Our challenge last month was about what motivates us. I want to extend a shout-out and big thank you to all who participated! This month we will build on that and start to put that motivation into action. If you weren't able to complete the April challenge, don't fret. While we are building and you will get the most out of doing each month's challenge, every month can be completed individually. 

   Next, I want to thank all the Flames who have stepped up and demonstrated their fiery ambition in April! With the integration of the GSW Discord server we were able to spark some interest and see interaction in our Meet and Greet and in the open Leadership meeting! Let's see if we can stoke up more participation in May!

Ever noticed how when you put two flames together the fire burns brighter? It definitely translates to our Flames Lodge members as well! 

 Last month we didn't see any interaction in our extended newsletter, but I will give it a try again this month. Check it out! I feel like we can have a lot of fun and get to know each other better with some of the extra topics you'll find there! With that being said, this newsletter is coming to a close and as quick as a candle burns at the end of it's wick, I'm out!

Need help deciding on your Majors and Minors? Maybe this tip could be of service. Mind you, I don’t think you need to start thinking about them until Level 2. What I’m doing is, I’m taking a few “So You Want To Be A (Color) Wizard” classes at a time. I’m doing this just so I can get glimpses on what each path entails. But, that’s just MY method of Major and Minor decisions. If you have another way to decide, that’s great too!

Merry meet, Grey School!

I hope you’re enjoying this new term!

With May, we see a shift in perspective, having fully stepped into the “crossroads” between seasons. And that, my fellow wizards can be the door to some powerful magick! 

This time of year marks the halfway point between Spring and Summer in the Northern hemisphere, while it also marks this transit between Fall and Winter in the Southern hemisphere. Both give us an opportunity to reach out, beyond the reality we know, and connect with the otherworldly magick of nature and our ancestors. 

The veil is thin here, and we can use it to create the abundance and growth we want to see! Venus moved into Aries on the 2nd, and will stay there until the 28th. Jupiter joins the planet of love in Aries on the 10th, and together these energies create a bold and somewhat daring influence.
This is a great time to push the envelope and expand your horizons! Think BIG, wizards… what fantastic thing do you want to create?
