It's not too late to be included in our Online Community Survey!

All responses to this Survey will be collated anonymously into our 2022 Mackellar Matters report and shared with all the candidates in the upcoming Federal election. Your chance to be heard!

If you live in the Mackellar electorate and haven’t participated in one of our in person or online Kitchen Table Conversations we’d love to hear your answers to questions like:

  • What do you value about this Mackellar community?

  • What local and national issues concern you most?

  • What qualities do you think make for a good political representative?

Election time is coming...

Speaking of the Federal Election, even though the date has not been set, the electorate is already abuzz with candidate activity!

As stated in the Voices of Mackellar Constitution, one of our aims is to ‘promote and expand active community participation in the processes of Democracy’. Voting is the most fundamental act of participation in democracy,  giving every citizen the opportunity to select the candidate or candidates that they feel will best represent their values and the issues they are most concerned about.

As a strictly non-partisan and not for profit organisation, Voices of Mackellar does not endorse any candidate in any election.

To date, four candidates plus the current MP, Jason Falinski, have nominated to be the representative for Mackellar. Learn more about them on our Candidate Bulletin Board.

Follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to keep up to date with key events of all the candidates and learn more about them on our Candidate Bulletin Board.

Regenerating Australia launches in Sydney this Friday 4 March.

Regenerating Australia is a very special documentary directed by Damon Gameau (2040, That Sugar Film). It’s set on New Year’s Eve 2029 and takes the form of a news bulletin looking back at the decade ‘that could be’. A decade that saw Australia transition to a fairer, cleaner, more community-focused economy.

We’re working to support some special screenings on the Northern Beaches in early April.

Watch this space!

And in the meantime, watch the trailer.

Calling for volunteers

As we gear up for a massive next couple of months, we are on the lookout for volunteers!

We’re specifically looking for people wanting to get involved in event planning, communications, PR and logistics - it takes a village!

We are also looking for administration volunteers to help with our database and online activities. Contact Sheilah to register your interest here

T-Shirts

One way you can support us is through buying a BE HEARD T-shirt!

They make for great conversation starters in the leadup to the Federal election and feature the beautiful map of Mackellar on the back!
