June's Dose of Inspiration |
|
|
The month of June is a time of growth and fullness. It is an opportunity for human beings to grow and integrate the yin and yang forces within their natures. In summer, what is out of balance is pulled back into balance. That is why in summer we take a vacation - vacating or stepping out of our daily routine in order to integrate our experiences. June offers a month to practice equanimity: the experience of nothing lacking and of accepting all things as they are. |

Equanimity practice When you feel a general sense of uneasiness about yourself and your life, repeat: May I accept things just as they are. May I accept myself just as I am. I forgive, I release, I let go. |

"Open your mind to receive, by Catherine Ponder. People seem to be restraining themselves from experiencing a prosperous life and OPEN YOUR MIND TO RECEIVE will help to release them. Although they may not realize it, their own consciousness may be blocking the flow of prosperity into their lives. A prosperity consciousness transformation can happen to anyone who faithfully uses the universal laws of abundance in this book on a sincere and consistent basis. The results will be in accord with one's own soul growth. The success philosophy Ponder writes about obviously does not contain a risky "get-rich-quick" formula. Instead, it describes a soul-satisfying process of growth that contains unlimited and eternal benefits into which one evolves. True abundance on all levels of life comes as a result of developing a prosperous consciousness. And "consciousness" is the result of ideas held in mind. |

In this episode, Steven Bartlett sits with Mo Gawdat, the former Chief Business Officer for Google x, the founder of One Billion Happy Foundation, and the co-founder of Unstressable. He is the best-selling author of books such as, "Solve for Happy", "Scary Smart" and "That little voice in your head". This conversation resonated with me, my journey and what I see around me. Mo finds that this is the most stressful time for any generation, which I fully agree with. Stress is the new pandemic. There are no ways to extinguish stress from our life but we can adopt tools and practices that help us handle, manage, and release stress from our body. Mo believes that stress is good for you until it kills you. What we don't recognize is that stress becomes an addiction - a status symbol. How can we sit in silence without the need to be busy, doing, planning which is a manifestation of our addiction to stress? They explore the concept of burn out equation, and the challenging question ''Am I selling my health and wellbeing for revenue''? It's an eye-opening episode that's worth listening to reflect on our patterns and relationship with stress. |
