  • March 15-21: Down Syndrome Awareness Week

    • March 17: National Day of Action Against Bullying and Violence

      (great for my adolescent SLP's!)

FUNctional Therapy Idea

In honor of National Let's Laugh Day on March 19 here's a fun activity for any age group.

Pre-therapy: Buy a bag of Laffy Taffy candy for the jokes inside the wrapper or go online for suitable age-appropriate jokes

Therapy Activity: Allow each person to select a joke to read. Rate each joke as funny or not funny (for young kids), or give a number rating for teens and adults (on a scale of 1-10 how funny was this joke?). This is a great opportunity to work on pragmatics and understanding multiple-word meanings, sarcasm, and humor.

Have fun!

As always,

Take care.

Be well.
