Renate Gritter is our alumni guest blogger this month! Renate graduated from SSU with her BA in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2020.

 

Currently living at SSU's Park Hall in the heart of St. Stephen, New Brunswick, Renate's passion for hospitality and community takes shape in finding creative ways to feed and care for her fellow SSU Staff, Faculty and Park Hall guests.

 

She shares her love for “Bread and God” this month with us!

We are excited to announce our new Alumni Book Club for April and May featuring alumnus Steve Mitchinson’s book entitled, Dying for Life: How Jesus’ Passion Reframes Life and Death as Dying and Rebirth. Steve is a palliative care physician whose perspective (alongside patristic and contemporary voices) makes for a stunning call to embrace death as a journey through growth in the womb of this life toward rebirth in the next.

We celebrate JFI’s new peer-reviewed journal published through partnership with the Kenarchy Journal. Several excellent articles were written by SSU faculty, students, alumni, and associates. We highlight alumna Lisa Meier’s brilliant article, “Menstrual Blood: an Icon of the Kenotic Atonement of Christ,” HERE in Volume 6.

 

We also encourage alumni to consider submitting research articles for peer review according to the guidelines for the Kenarchy Journal.
