REALL Friends,

As I reflect on this last month and all of the preparation that went into our Meal Pack. There are a lot of moving parts that require time, patience and teamwork. I am extremely humbled and grateful for each and every person who helped make this possible. I've been trying to reconcile it all in my head. Sometimes I can't make sense of the things of this world. Poverty, food insecurity, homelessness being just a few. I know we're not saving the world, however when we all work together, we make a difference in the lives of those in need...We create a community of Christ like people who truly live out His commission for our lives. I thought I'd share something that is perfectly written.

Psalm 146 Put Not Your Trust in Princes

"Praise the Lord!

Praise the Lord, O my soul!

I will praise the Lord as long as I live;

I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.

Put not your trust in princes,

in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation.

When this breath departs, he returns to the earth;

on that very day his plans perish.

 Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob,

whose hope is in the Lord his God,

who made heaven and earth,

the sea, and all that is in them,

who keeps faith forever;

who executes justice for the oppressed,

who gives food to the hungry.

The Lord sets the prisoners free;

the Lord opens the eyes of the blind.

The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down;

the Lord loves the righteous.

The Lord watches over the sojourners;

he upholds the widow and the fatherless,

but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin.

The Lord will reign forever,

your God, O Zion, to all generations.

Praise the Lord!"

Abundant Blessings,

Jen Pattinson

"And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work." 2 Corinthians 9:8

WE DID IT!!!! We Packed 108,000

Meals for Mission of Hope Haiti

To Our Volunteers and Donors,

Thank you to our generous donors who helped us raise $38,000. We absolutely crushed our goal. It was an incredibly successful event that brought our community together to serve a country in need. A special shout out to the Morrison Y for allowing us to host the event in their gym and our partner, Forest Hill Church. We are better when we serve together. We are so grateful to those who volunteered with us Saturday, 6/22 to pack 108,000 meals for the many people in Haiti dealing with food insecurity. As you may have heard, the country of Haiti is experiencing a crisis unlike anything we've seen in our lifetime.  A recent U.N. report stated that 1.4 million people in Haiti were a step away from famine.  Unfortunately, we know that number has grown as we continue to receive calls stating that the elderly and children are literally dying of starvation. Over 4.9 million people do not know where their next meal will come from. If you would like to continue to support our efforts feeding our friends in Haiti see our Team Hope link below.

With gratitude and grace,

The Meal Pack Team,

(Kimberly Alber, Jean Dietrich, Amy Dobson & Jen Pattinson)

Meet Our New Partner, Nothing Pink

In April we had Kelly Kashmer from Nothing Pink join us. She shared her non-profit that is dedicated to supporting women who tested positive for the BRCA gene that detects the active gene for Breast and GYN Cancer. She is a survivor and a true warrior. They have recently opened a space for women and their families to come and receive support and information on how to navigate the cancer world. I've been thinking about our Jane's Sparkle project and how we can do more to help in this area. I toured their facility and sat with Carrie Williams, Director of Operations & Development to see where REALL can fit into their program. They are looking for "House Hosts" women to come in for a few hours to be a hostess when women come in for information or a meeting. The duties are very simple, make guests feel comfortable, serve tea or coffee, help with small projects, etc. You would not be there alone. In order to be a house hostess you will need to do a short training in person with Carrie. Please check out their website and reach out to Carrie if you are interested. I think it will be a wonderful way to honor women in need of some support.

 Here is a recipient of a Jane's Sparkle Bag. These are included in a large gift bag with supplies for women who are about to embark on their journey through fighting cancer.

If you would like to learn more about volunteering as a House Host please email Carrie

 The country of Haiti is suffering with extreme poverty and homelessness. They are hungry and most struggle to feed their families everyday. If you are looking for a charity to help, please consider Mission of Hope/Team Hope. Just $10 a month feeds a child for a month. You may also choose to sponsor a child monthly. By doing so, it guarantees them an opportunity to go to school and be fed daily. I was there in 2017 and I can assure you the need is there and MOH is a wonderful organization. I can't say enough of them.
