Registration/Volunteer forms are past due, please ensure you have all your forms completed

 

We are well past the deadline for Leaders and Volunteers to have their yearly required forms in. If you have not completed your Volunteer form or any other required forms (ie, COVID Waiver, Code of Conduct, Current PRC) please do so no later than April 30th or you will not be able to assist with club activities or lead projects during this current 4-H Year. Reminder; a new PRC needs to be done every 3 years for your status to remain active.

If you have any questions about your Screened Volunteer status or require a letter to get a PRC, please follow up with Elizabeth at pei4h@pei4h.ca.

REMINDER, RULE OF TWO - All 4-H Meetings or gatherings MUST have at least one Trained Volunteer and one Screened Volunteer (married couples can not be each other's, second person).

Youth Safety Training

Any Volunteers working on being considered "Trained" but have not yet completed the

Youth Safety Training; the final virtual session of this 4-H year will be held on

April 28th at 7pm. Please RSVP to Jackie Harlow at jlharlow@pei4h.ca by April 26th.

Are you interested in taking First Aid Training?

 

The Provincial Office is offering free First Aid Training for Volunteers. We have limited spaces available so please let us know if you are interested and which session you would prefer. Sessions will be first come first reserved.

May 8th, 9am - 4pm

New Resources For Leaders Now Online

 

4-H PEI has been working to move all of our leader resources onto a Google drive so that they are easily accessible online to all of our leaders.

We have started with the livestock projects. All of the livestock leader resources have been updated (except horse, canine, market beef, and spring projects which will be updated for next year).

4-H PEI Summer Student Oppertunity

 

Each year (pending funding) the Provincial Council hires a post-secondary summer student to work FULL-TIME assisting the provincial staff team from mid-May to the end of August  (estimated 14 weeks)

4-H Summer Assistant will work with 4-H staff on projects such as:

​

  • Club Reorganization preparation

  • Marketing & Promotion of the 4-H Program

  • Communications

4-H project, Megan wanted to create an opportunity to engage with younger members, sharing stories and conversations. Introducing "Storytime with Megan"

 

4-H PEI families with younger children (up to age 12) are invited to let Mary Jane (maryjmacphee@pei4h.ca)  know if you are interested in this opportunity...videos will be shared on 4-H PEI's social media accounts on Tuesday's, beginning on December 22 and then every Tuesday following!

National Scholarship opportunities are available to 4-H members pursuing post-secondary education. Applications for 4-H Canada scholarships close May 31.

Youth Safety Guidelines 

4-H considers the safety and well-being of 4-H youth members its top priority. The Youth Safety Reporting System for 4-H in Canada enables leaders, volunteers, and staff to conveniently submit Activity Plan and Incident Report forms directly to their provincial organization. The secure system can be accessed from a computer or mobile device without the need for an account.

Commit to Kids Volunteer Training

 

The Commit to Kids online training has been developed by the Canadian Centre for Child Protection for organizations like 4-H. All 4-H volunteers, leaders and staff are asked to complete the Commit to Kids online training as part of their screening process.
