Are you intentionally and intuitively creating the business and life you want? |
Think back to the beginning of 2023..yep, that’s over 3 months ago now! Are you experiencing your life or is your business unfolding the way you imagined back in January? Often, particularly in business, we intentionally focus on the external things we can measure, such as monthly revenue $$$, total sales transactions, # of clients onboarded, # of likes or followers on our social media platforms, etc. While they are definitely important, how often do you leverage your intuition in life and/or business? |
While the intention may feel a bit elusive, hard to explain, or as my friend says “A bit woo woo,” it is an internal knowingness, gut feeling, hunch, or unconscious awareness of a person, place, situation, or external circumstances. Often hard to explain, intuition serves as a guide or compass to help us navigate what it is that we are experiencing or thinking about. According to Positive Psychology, “intuitions also appear to be holistic – combining insights from multiple sources and often requiring a leap in thinking based on limited information.” Essentially, intuition synthesizes our knowledge and information from the past and present, which may be conscious or unconscious, biased or unbiased, cognitive, affective or intentioned, among other aspects that influence our thinking, feeling, behaviors, decision-making, and perspective. And from a spiritual or religious perspective, depending on your beliefs, it may be a direct download from the Source, God, spirit guides, ancestors, or the universal consciousness. For example, you may have been introduced to a business entity, “Details, LLC” by a trusted friend or colleague. Based on your 2023 goals, you wanted to grow the capacity of your business and after several meetings with leaders at Details, Inc., it appears to be an amazing opportunity so a contract is drafted. Everyone on your team, including your Certified Public Accountant and Attorney, “signs off” that the deal is sound and the potential to grow your business and make money is outstanding. When you are about to sign on the dotted line to seal the deal, your intuition tells you “Don’t do it!” For some reason, you just can’t bring yourself to sign the papers. While disappointed at the missed opportunity but not knowing why you just can’t move forward with the deal, you inform your team. They respond in astonishment, and disbelief and echoed sentiments about a missed opportunity to grow your business. Not quite sure how to explain why, you just respond “I couldn’t do it…While the deal seems great, I just could not do it.” A few months later, you are looking at the local news and find out that the company filed for bankruptcy. Had you done the deal, you would have lost so much money that it would have jeopardized the survivability of your business. The next morning when you get into the office, your team responds “Aren’t you lucky that you followed your gut and didn’t do the deal??!!!” So, the moral to the story is…while you are being intentional with how you are actively implementing your personal and professional plans or goals, remember to allocate time, space, and capacity to tap into your internal navigation system – your intuition. It is the delicate balance between credible, external information and internal knowingness that will help you to intentionally and intuitively create the business and life you want. |

Time Management, Organizational & Self Care (stress management) tips to keep the chaos at bay. |
Prioritizing you and creating the space to BE still, BE present, and BEcome one with source is an amazing way to create calm, clarity, and confidence in the chaos of life. Meditation and mindfulness are practices that integrate the mind, body, and soul with a focus on awareness and attention in the present moment. In a 2012, US study respondents that practiced mindful meditation indicated that “73 percent reported that they meditated for their general wellness and to prevent diseases, and most of them (approximately 92 percent) reported that they meditated to relax or reduce stress.” Other benefits include helping to manage stress, anxiety, depression, high blood pressure, insomnia, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), etc. Have you been mindful about meditating today? |

It’s Carnival, Ba-Byyyyyyy! |
St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI) is bursting into a kaleidoscope of culture filled with color, costumes, concerts and music, dance, culinary delights and so much more. While the anticipation and activities have been building up for the last few weeks, the culmination of events began this week on Sunday, April 23rd, and will continue through Sunday, April 30th. It is 1 out of 3 annual, festive USVI events (St. Croix in December and St. John in July) to come together in community, let your hair down, release some stress, and frolic in uninhibited delight at the freedom of cultural expression. For many locals, these events are ancestrally tied to who they are as a people, and especially after having them halted during COVID, it is essential to their health and well-being. So, yeah…cultural wellness is a thing! |
According to Vantage Fit, “Cultural wellness is the ability to understand and respect our cultural background and the cultural backgrounds of other people as well. It is about acknowledging and appreciating diversity and respecting all people irrespective of religion, gender, race, age, sexual orientation, and so on. So, relish in the cultural chaos of carnival…it’s good for your well-being! |
