Hello Parrotlet Lovers! In this issue I want to discuss the value of incorporating Apple Cider Vinegar into your parrotlet's diet, brief historical facts regarding this species of bird, and using your parrotlet feathers to create "Macro" photography artwork! |
Is apple cider vinegar good for parrotlets? It has been my experience that many of the same benefits derived by humans can apply to our feathered friends. |

Possible benefits: Provides birds with vitamins, enzymes, and important minerals. Effective treatment for some illnesses, feather plucking, and mites.
Type to purchase: My personal favorite: |

Be careful not to use too much ACV since that can have adverse consequences! As always, check with your veterinary specialist first before using ACV. Health maintenance: 1/4 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar to 1 cup of water for three days every month. Digestion problems: 1/2 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar to 1 cup of water for five days. Respiratory issues: 3/4 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar to 1 cup of water for seven days. I personally choose to add two drops of ACV to my birds drinking water daily. (Caution - make sure that you witness your parrotlet drinking the water with ACV in it to be sure that they are getting the hydration that they need.)

Ever wonder what to do with your parrotlet feathers? |
I don't know about you, but I hate throwing away my beautiful parrotlet feathers! One day, I contacted my favorite "Macro" photographer, Instagram@carlimichellephoto, with an idea. I mailed her some feathers from which she created unique, detailed, digital "macro" prints. She sent me the digital copies, for a very reasonable amount, which I used to make custom canvases and stationary. Macro photography could apply to any item to create just the custom, unique, gift for that someone special. Take a look! |
