OCTOBER NEWSLETTER

October 2, 2020

Novel Updates: I am using the professional advice of my editorial assessment Editor to polish novel one and get it shortened to an acceptable word count. For example, my story ended at 108,000 words, but I need to get closer to 90,000, Currently, I am at 101,150 words. As you can see I am making progress. The challenge is, as I cut out parts of my story, other parts have to be rewritten. I am moving forward as rapidly as possible, so hang in there. Nobody wants you to ready my story more than I do! Next step for this novel is the Copy Editor, who will deal with all the tedious details like commas, grammar, misspellings, etc. and hopefully help me get it formatted and ready to publish. Novel two edits are on hold for now and it's sequel is also on hold. I am ready to get novel one off my plate, so I am putting my focus there for the time being. When I do get back to novel two, I plan to seek the help of professional editors much sooner, so I can get my books on the shelves faster.

Blog Update

On my blog, I have been writing a short story series. I plan to post Part 5 on Monday. It won't take long to catch up, if you've missed the first four. I have some ideas for the next short story, so make sure to subscribe and stay in the loop.

Life Changes

The biggest change in my life since my last newsletter, is that I not only became an empty nester, but a Blue Star Mother. The Lord has sustained me, but it hasn't been an easy transition. Truly, I don't know if it is something I can ever adjust to completely. I trust the Lord to continue to help me, though. Both of my brothers were in the military, one for 30 years. I know how this goes. It's a sacrifice for the soldier and for the family. I am incredibly proud of my son and I am his biggest cheerleader, whether he can hear me or not.

On The Hobby Farm

My summer mornings and evening were filled with working in our garden and taking care of our now 21 chickens. The ones in the picture are our littlest. Sad to say two of those were lost to a fox this week. Our garden did pretty well this season. We are still harvesting okra. I just fried some up last night. One new addition to our garden this year was sunflowers. I really enjoyed seeing them from my kitchen window. We are even trying our hand at roasting the seeds.

Remember to take a look at my website. It's mostly about things meaningful to me. Of course, when I have a book or other products to offer, they will be available through my site. There is a Forum page, though. Feel free to make comments, ask questions or offer advice. I am a learner and will probably be one for the rest of my life. I love how you show up and support me anyway.

The Lord God is so awesome to allow me to serve Him through my writing. I can definitely serve the Lord with gladness in this way. He is so good to me. If you are an unbeliever or a seeker, you are always welcome to email me with questions. I don't know all the answers, but I know who does. -Sandy
