Supervisor's Corner

Welcome to the Town of Wheatland Fall 2019 electronic newsletter and the Supervisor's Corner.

My name is Linda Dobson and I am proud to be the Supervisor for the Town of Wheatland. As a key elected leader in the Town of Wheatland Government, I work with other members of the Town Board to enable the ideas, opinions, and concerns of a wide variety of interests in town affairs and use that input to manage the Town Government in the most effective and efficient manner. In Wheatland, the Town Supervisor is elected to serve a two year term in office operating as one of five voting members of the Town Board.

The Supervisor also serves as the administrative leader of the Town Government, including the following responsibilities:

  • Oversees the everyday workings of the Town, finding solutions to the normal challenges that continually arise.
  • Works with the Town Board to resolve major issues.
  • Serves as the primary contact with constituents and other levels of government.
  • Ensures that the Town of Wheatland is able to respond to emergency situations through planning, preparation and active coordination with local and regional emergency organizations.
  • The Town Supervisor has the authority to declare a Town wide emergency.
  • Provides leadership in planning for the future needs of the Town.

I look forward to hearing from residents with questions, concerns, suggestions or ideas. I can be reached at (585) 889-1553 Option 9 or by email. Be sure to get out and enjoy what our Town has to offer during the wonderful Fall Season.

Linda Dobson,

  Town Supervisor

What I "Like" About Wheatland

A Quote from Roger Estes

Although Roger has been a life-long resident in the town of Caledonia, Wheatland has been his "hometown". Roger, his wife Deanie and their five sons were educated in the Wheatland-Chili School District and have been active in Wheatland Recreation programs and SAA baseball and soccer. Roger is currently serving as pastor of the First United Presbyterian Church in Mumford.

"Wheatland is a wonderful community filled with great people who care about and for each other. Wheatland offers many opportunities for young and old alike. Wheatland Rec and SAA continue to offer our young people activities that can tune their athletic skills and social skills. Many older folks love going to the Senior Center for food, games and good conversation. And let’s not forget our faith communities that offer continuous outreach through special events and dinners as well as worship services. There are many more reasons to “Like” Wheatland, it is truly a little piece of Heaven on Earth."
