FPSO EXPLODES AND SINKS OFF NIGERIA WITH 10 ABOARD

 

An aging tanker that was operating as a floating oil production and storage vessel (FPSO) exploded and caught fire before sinking off the coast of Nigeria on Wednesday, February 2. Ten people working aboard the vessel were reported missing and presumed killed.

Six Russian tank landing craft from the Baltic and Northern Fleets have arrived at Russia's Eastern Mediterranean naval base in Tartus, Syria. The supply stop puts them within easy reach of the Black Sea, where they would be of potential use in the event of a widely-anticipated Russian invasion of Ukraine.

TANKER DAMAGED BY ROUGH WEATHER WHILE OFFLOADING DIESEL, LEBANON

 

Understood tanker, loaded with 42,000 tons of diesel oil, was in process of offloading cargo, when accident occurred. Cargo operations were immediately stopped, no leak reported.
