Happy New Year!

We hope your Christmas and New Year celebrations were blessed. Thank you all for your Christmas/New Year greetings. We appreciate them so much.

Looking Forward

Looking forward to what the year holds can be daunting. Sometimes those feelings arise from perceived failures of past years; goals that weren’t attained attack our minds. Slowly, if we aren’t careful to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, we begin to lose our grip on trusting Him – crushing our hopes and spirits.

Instead of focusing on what we missed or didn’t accomplish in the past year(s), why not focus on what lies ahead?

Heb. 10:22,23 “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful…”

God is faithful. This world isn’t faithful and the promises of the world often come to nothing. But that’s not the way it is with our Father. While we press forward, there are times things don’t happen as we thought they would. That doesn’t mean they will never happen; it simply means God has a better way to get us where He wants us to be.

 Breakthrough

Our year took off with the purchase of our first piece of property for our school next to the Hope Center feeding site in Gatumba, Burundi.

Yesterday, January 5, 2022, the purchase for the land was made and the process of changing ownership has begun. In this part of the world it takes time to get this done but it is now on the way! Thank you for praying.

Coming Up

  • Refurbishing the existing building on the new school site in Gatumba, Burundi will begin once all necessary paperwork has been completed.
    • Purchasing second small property (directly behind the new property) for the school in Gatumba is coming up.
    • Pray necessary funds for the properties’ purchase, renovations, staff, furnishings and supplies come through.
    • Pray that the registration process for the school goes smoothly in order for us to begin in September.
  • Some months ago we reported to you how we’ve been able to begin construction in Zambia on the main church building in Lusaka. We have been able to set down columns and raise the roof. Rains have been heavy and have worn away at some of the columns supporting the roof. The church has done its best to repair the issue. Pray that we are able to lay the building’s slab to secure the building.

Keep on

Philippians 2:12 NCV tells us to “…keep on working.” This is what we intend to do in 2022. If the past two years has taught us anything, it’s taught us that time is short. Let’s work before the sun sets.

Thank you again for your partnership and prayers,

Jamie, Lea and Andreya
