This event is one of those events where the opportunity came up and I just had to jump in...NOT knowing what was coming later down the pipes. But I love planning events and organizing good and talented peeps because I always learn something new. And after all the meetings and hiccups, here and there, it's finally all coming together RIGHT ON TIME. So with that in mind and after 4 months of planning, I'd SURE LOVE TO SEE YOU THERE ON SATURDAY afternoon... and then... |

Art Camps are sold out and underway, so here's some deeper insight on what these two popular programs promote:) |

|
| | THE TEENZ Art Club captures so many wonderful things that an aspiring youth will need as they head into or continue into high school as well as post secondary education. Youth of today are up against more than just their peers in school. With social media playing a major role in their everyday lives, they are up against all youth and adults across the globe. It takes gumption, and confidence to be a successful artist and with these, do they begin to grow a thick skin. Harsh judges we may be of our own work, put up against online comments - that is the real test of their resolve. Youth of today, need a program like this. Every lesson will cover current social themes as well as challenges they might be facing, whether these are personal or professional. Art Club members will have one project to work on each month and will be asked to maintain up to four different themes, chosen by themselves. The objective of this program is to help them to empower themselves through challenging their own beliefs about their art as well as how they approach their everyday lives through the power of the visual arts. Painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, jewelry, fibre arts, creative problem solving, calligraphy and mixed media barely scratch the surface of what is covered in this program. Think of this course as a life skills lesson through creative expression. Field trips will take them outside of the Studio to learn how to be mindful while surrounded by distraction. Program-specific Coffee Shop Shows give their work a public space to be experienced by people who don't know them. Two major public youth markets are held each year for Full Program members where they learn the art of marketing as well as how to present their work professionally as well as themselves. If this is something your young teen, middle teen or 19 year old is interested in, please get in touch. There is only one spot left and to my knowledge, a program like this is offered nowhere else within the Foothills especially with a small class size of 3! 3 youth, 3 hours equals one hour of one-on-one time with their teacher, ME! Not enough info for you? Cool. There's more on the form! | | |

| | (1 SPOT TENTATIVELY OPEN - AS OF AUGUST 2:) The Kids Art Club offers super creative kids a myriad of ways for them to first and foremost, give themselves the kudos they deserve. Each project is tailored to their skills, interests and it presents fun and challenging opportunities to explore mediums no yet tried. Creative youngsters just have to create to get their inspiring ideas out and into the world. If they don't then their expression can be stunted and stagnant and then unwanted behaviors, or unhappy moods can surface. Artists need to create! Sometimes, because they are kids, they don't know what is safe to use, what materials can be used in tandem and which cannot. Learning the HOW of art supplies is a major stepping stone for young artists. Therefore, much of their art projects will start off with the science behind the supply. How come you can't paint over wax crayons? Why can't you use acrylic paint the same way as watercolour paint? Do you HAVE to use watercolour paper? Why? What kind of glue is best for plastic? What kind isn't good for anything?? How can you tell if you have good paint, low quality paint.. and what is the difference between oil pastels and chalk pastels? Why can't you mix them? If you have found yourself unable to answer these questions, and you have a young artist making new creations and leaving them unfinished all over your house then THIS IS THE PLACE FOR THEM! Only TWO spots left in an awesome 5-kid-max class! You HAVE to join us! More creative minds the better:) You can join just for the Fall from Sept. - Dec. or January 2024 - June... but MOST parents choose the Full Program from Sept. - June. You save yourself $102 too! Just like ALL 5 Programs in the Studio -- ALL supplies are provided. ALL costs are included in your monthly fees including the TWO annual Youth Art Markets in June and December. Never mind our Gingerbread Showdown in November! Wanna read more? | | |

Meet my "Co-Pilot": Miss Misty:) When I'm sitting at the computer, she must sit next to me. So the same goes for car rides. I tried to set her up with a seat belt in the backseat... but NOPE. Not having that. So she has a longer seat belt that reaches the console between the front seats. Compromise is good;) We dropped off our donations to Okotoks Pound Rescue at Pet Planet and Heaven Can Wait at PetValue on the day this photo was taken so we were feeling real good that day:) But if you're really looking to find people who love your dogs and cats as much as you do.. then I do still recommend Bone & Biscuit:) |
