We're Hiring!

Now Accepting Applications for

Town Clerk and Water Clerk/Municipal Court Clerk

The Town of Sturgis is pleased to announce two new part-time positions, the Town Clerk and Water Clerk/Municipal Court Clerk. These positions were previously combined into one, but have now been split into two separate roles to better serve the community. Michelle Ellis, who currently serves in this role, will be retiring in June. We thank her for her service to our town.

As the Town Clerk, you will be responsible for maintaining official town records, administering elections, issuing licenses and permits, and managing town meetings. You will work closely with other town officials and staff to ensure that all town business is conducted efficiently and effectively.

As the Water Clerk/Municipal Court Clerk, you will be responsible for maintaining the town's water billing system, responding to customer inquiries, and performing other administrative tasks related to municipal services such as completing administrative tasks for court hearings and managing proceedings.

Both positions are part-time, with a Monday-Friday schedule from 8:00am to 12:00pm. The ideal candidates will have strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

Prior experience in a similar role is preferred, but not required.

To learn more or to apply for either position, please refer to the job postings listed at Town Hall or posted on Indeed. We look forward to growing our team to better serve the residents of our community.

Fun Fact:  The fall and spring equinoxes are the only two times during the year when the sun rises due east and sets due west.
