I don't know about you but March is my least favorite month in New England. It's long, cold, dreary, and downright ugly. It's no wonder that March tends to be a time when many of us experience a lack of motivation. Our commitment to our New Year's resolutions is waning, we feel uninspired, we procrastinate, and our routines can start to feel pretty "Ho Hum."
So how can we get our motivation back? Here are some thoughts.
Accept where you are. Stagnation is cyclical and sometimes provides necessary feedback for change.
Check in with your goals. Do they still serve you? Maybe you need to shift or rework them.
Shake up your routine. Start a new morning practice, be creative with your meal prep, reach out to a friend you haven't seen in a while, take a short training or find a new podcast. Stimulate your creative thinking.
Start small. Make one small change and celebrate daily footsteps.
Remember being "In the Flow" is a state of high enjoyment, motivation, concentration, and creativity. It is a place where challenge and skill are in balance.
Is your teen or young adult feeling stuck, experiencing a lack of clarity and motivation?
