On the other hand, economic growth, which positively affects job creation, seems optimistic, considering the 2022-23 budget that provides a strong impetus for growth, with capital expenditure being stepped up sharply by 35.4% to Rs 7.50 lakh crore from Rs. 5,54 lakh crore in the current financial year.

India generates about 3.5 million tons of plastic waste annually. However, very little is understood and researched about the situation of plastic waste that has engulfed rural India. Pratham conducted the Rural Plastic Waste Management Survey in May 2022 where we covered 710 villages in 15 states across India to understand their waste management process of segregation & disposal of the plastic waste that is generated. We further captured the available facilities at the village panchayat.
