HSC Seals/Shoresports Youth Fun Training - MEMBERS ONLY
6 week course FOR 8 -14 YEAR OLDS commencing 11th June - every Saturday until 18th july
HSC Seals have teamed up with Shoresports to offer a bespoke sailing course, designed for the 8-14 year olds of HSC.
Our budding young sailors will be taught all the basics and develop the confidence to either start or continue their sailing careers. Whether they have sailed lots of times before or have never been in a boat, this is a great opportunity to get them into the sport we love.
Over the course of 6 weeks, Nick, and his team will aim to teach them to rig their boats independently, be able to sail around a designated course and to be thinking about how to get the most out of their boats.
Varying tidal conditions and weather will mean that there will also be opportunities to enjoy some of the other great fun activities that Shoresports offer, which include kayaking, SUP and windsurfing. Have a look at www.shoresports.co.uk to see more about Shoresports.
All safety equipment will be loaned by Shoresports as part of the course fee.
The course runs from 10:00 - 12:00 every Saturday morning from 11 June to 16 July. Having lots of options for activities and locations within the naturally safe confines of Christchurch harbour means that we will try to run the course regardless of weather. Rain will not stop us! There is the possibility that extremely strong winds and / or lightning could be a barrier to running a session but we have timed this to minimise the likelihood of this.
The cost of the course would normally be £150 but, thanks to an extremely generous donation to support our youth, we are offering the course for £50 to those who were members of the club before 7 February 2022.
Please note that, in light of this generous subsidy, we need a commitment to attend all sessions. Unexpected issues may of course arise but please only book if you are intending the attend the full course.
Please note that the details that you provide when you register will be passed to Shoresports, who will contact you nearer the time to make final arrangements.
