2021 was the Year of Listening for TLG.

While the international education sector navigated one of the most challenging years in its history, we were listening to what students and stakeholders were saying.

We heard your concerns, your confusion and about the solutions you were looking for. We shared what we were hearing with you – our clients and our connections – so that you could be ready to predict and plan your path towards the post-pandemic era.

This year we launched The Social Source – our state-of-the-art social media insights tool - which allows us to provide rapid analysis of how international students are reacting to policy decisions and events in Australia. We provide tailored social media insight to clients, allowing you to gain real-time understanding of key issues facing students and to identify communication gaps and needs.

In 2021 we released five episodes of our podcast, The Source Pod. Our 2021 episodes covered transnational education, Austrade, the pilot reentry programs and we interviewed students about their experiences studying with Australia during the pandemic.

Throughout 2021 TLG have been actively engaging with public discourse about the experience of international students throughout the pandemic. We share what we are hearing, and we bring our expertise to you via our media commentary and participation in events. We appeared in print and radio interviews more than 20 times throughout the year.

More than anything, this year we have been truly inspired by the stories of true determination and collaboration across the international education sector this year. As we end the year, we are certain that 2022 will bring a renewed sense of hope and a chance at a strong and sustainable restart to Australia’s big success story – international education.

We will be back in your inboxes with our January 2022 newsletter – we’ll be talking about what we are hearing about the year ahead and where we think priorities should fall to ensure our students can return and commence with Australian institutions.

Along with the rest of our team, TLG Canine Bureau Manager, Daisy, wishes you all a wonderful, relaxing and safe holiday.
