August 2021 - Newsletter

Gnomes are everywhere this year, even in the small towns of Wyoming! Thanks to a special niece with a knack for nabbing plush toys out of crane machines, this purple-hatted gnome now has a home with Timber and friends at Gnome Road. It goes to show that you never know what (or who) you might find on summer adventures!

We close out a busy month for Gnome Road submissions (middle grade and young adult queries only), along with a special submissions opportunity for Children's Book Insider subscribers. The inbox is full, but we are excited to mine through these works! We are also thrilled to announce that Chantelle and Burgen Thorne will be joining the GRP team as illustrators for not just one, but two of our current projects. Keep an eye  on the GRP News tab and our Twitter feed to stay informed of these and other new developments.

What's Coming Up?  

In the last newsletter we mentioned our upcoming attendance at the SCBWI Dakotas Region Fall 2021 Conference. We hope to see some of you there! And if you can't make it to that fabulous conference, check out the Picture Book Palooza hosted by the Children's Book Academy (all online) on September 18-19th, where we will be speaking on a panel with other independent publishers. We couldn't be more excited about these opportunities to connect with authors and illustrators everywhere!

Finally, as an additional reminder, we are still closed to submissions at the Little Gnome imprint. The wish list has been updated, although it may be helpful to check back before the September window opens in the event there are more. We will also be updating the website in the near future with more information on current project collaborations, interviews with GRP creatives, and acquisitions for the fall of 2023 and beyond!
