Updates from Our Team

Greetings from the team over at Shlama Foundation! Welcome to our Quarterly Newsletter!

First and foremost, we hope everyone is staying safe during these unprecedented times. We realize the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has shaken up our entire world, communities, and life as we know it.

What the Shlama Team Has Been Up To

Solar Project

Our six brilliant certified engineers in the Nineveh Plains have completed most of the assessment for the Solar project through our partnership with USAID. They were unable to do the farm assessments due to severe flooding in the area. Currently, they are on lockdown due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19). But the team is looking forward to being up and running again on assessments as soon as the pandemic is over.

Fundraisers

Chaldean Assyrian Heritage Night with the Detroit Pistons

On March 7th, the Shlama Foundation held Chaldean Assyrian Heritage Night with the Detroit Pistons. $5 from every ticket purchased went to Shlama Foundation. The night was a great success and we were able to raise $425 for the foundation. Not to mention, we had a blast enjoying the game and each other's company!

MATCHaldean Event

On February 27th, MATCHaldean held a free social mixer at Zao Jun where all proceeds of raffles that evening were donated to Shlama. A night of mingling and hanging out raised a total of $650!

Garmawa Update

The village of Garmawa has still not been sold. We will be reaching out to our donors soon on possible input for the next steps to take.

 God Helping Hearts Event

On February 22nd, God Helping Hearts held an event at The Dow where all proceeds of the event were donated to Shlama. The event raised $1,258! Thank you to everyone who attended!
