exciting times

It's already been a heck of a week and it's only Monday. Sometimes there are just so many things going on it's hard to know where to start. Yesterday was Mother's Day, one of my favorite holidays. I got my mom chocolate and book as usual. It's easy to buy gifts for someone with a sweet tooth who loves to read.

I had lunch with my inlaws at our favorite seafood joint and sat in the sunshine by the San Diego Bay. My fantastic mother-in-law is a big supporter of my writing.

I also got a phone call from my kid, after he finished a triathlon in British Columbia. He's a freshman at the University of Oregon and nothing makes me happier on Mother's Day than knowing my kids is happy too. On top of that, the hubby and I are working on a top secret project I hope to share soon.

My gift to myself this year is that my fourth novel goes on sale this week. It's a book about friendship, family, and what's next in life. One of my favorite things about it is the two characters in the novel are in their fifties, just like me. This age can be a time to re-evaluate your life, including what the next phase of it will look like. Believe me - sometimes it feels like life is really just getting going at this age. And, of course, there's lots of travel in the novel. You can purchase it here, or online wherever books are sold.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend and wish you the best in the week ahead.

book recommendation

The science fiction series The Expanse starts with Leviathan Wakes and contains nine novels and eight shorter works. I highly recommend the audiobooks narrated by Jefferson Mays. My entire family listened to and discussed this fascinating series.

Happy Travels: The Atlantic Road, Norway

The bridge doesn't end with a drop into nothing - although it sure looks that way.
