World Cancer Day 2024 marked a powerful spirit of collaboration. Graced by the Minister of Health, Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad, the joint event hosted by the Ministry of Health Malaysia, National Cancer Society Malaysia, University of Cyberjaya, NCD Malaysia, and MMA Public Health Society, facilitated vital discussions amongst NGOs, healthcare professionals, and key stakeholders. The event was held on 17th February 2024 at the Grand Hall, University of Cyberjaya. Our Honorary Secretary, Dr. Saiful Adni Abd Latif attended on behalf of MHPCC to raise more awareness about hospices and palliative care services in Malaysia and to promote the upcoming congress in July. |

ECHO 2024 Sessions Are Live! |

On 14th March 2024, we kickstarted the Echo sessions facilitated by our chairperson, Dr. Ng Woon Fang. Sister Norzilaila spoke about Wound Care in Palliative Care Setting after two case sharing sessions by a domiciliary team and the Community Palliative Care (CPC) team from Institut Kanser Negara (IKN). Up to 175 participants attended from all over Malaysia comprising healthcare professionals from Klinik Kesihatan, Hospitals, NGO Hospices and Private Hospitals. Next session will air on 18th April 2024 and the topic will be "Transition from Hospital to Home - End of Life Care at Home". | | |

Assunta Integrated Social Services (ASSISS) was formed with the sole purpose of assisting the under-privileged in need of medical attention. It is established under the auspices of Assunta Hospital which was founded in 1954. Today, ASSISS continues to provide free integrated healthcare for the poorest of the poor (patients with a combined family income of less than RM3000 per month). ASSISS Palliative Services started providing community palliative care support to the poorest of the poor since 2017 for Malaysians with total household income of ~RM3000/month via referral from government hospitals, other NGOs/hospices and GP clinics. |

The Malaysian Hospice Council Congress 2024 is Now Open for Registration |

The National Cancer Society Malaysia - Sarawak Branch and MHPCC are excited to announce the return of our biennial Congress to physical form. This year, as has been long awaited, the Congress will be held in Sibu, Sarawak. Venue: Kingwood Hotel, Sibu Date: 25th - 27th July 2024 Our Congress will be attended by key figures from all around the world. Dr. Frank Ferris from American Society of Clinical Oncology will be giving a keynote address on the theme and the esteemed Dr. M.R. Rajagopal from Pallium India will be speaking about "Making Healthcare Human". It's a learning opportunity not to be missed.
