Remembering Heather McKenzie Kilmer September 11, 1952 - February 14, 2023 |
It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Heather Kilmer. We extend our condolences to her loving and tremendously supportive and caring husband Art, and to their many family members and friends. Heather was an active and inspirational member of our Parkinson’s community. Along with her husband Art, she participated in Schott’s Boxing for PD, Dance Beyond Parkinson’s, PD Self, and was an active member of the Capital District Parkinson’s Support Group. Along with others from the local PD community, Heather and Art attended the World Parkinson’s Congress in Kyoto, Japan.
Heather and Art navigated her journey through Parkinson's with dignity, strength, humor and love. Heather will be remembered as an inspiration by all who were lucky enough to know her. -Nancy E. |

Correlations of osteoporosis in people with Parkinson's disease |
A new study confirmed a close clinical and genetic correlation between PD and osteoporosis. It was found that a PD diagnosis can be used as an independent risk factor for osteoporosis. The study concluded that regular and thorough bone health assessments are thus required for people with Parkinson's to supplement appropriate interventions timely. Want to learn how to improve bone density with exercise and nutrition? Check out our new blog post! |
