Aller Anfang ist schwer. - German proverb |
Beginnings are hard, particularly when you have to begin again! I wrote a brilliant introduction here, but apparently it didn't save properly. I don't think I'll be able to replicate it exactly. Just imagine an introduction that's at least 50% wittier and more sparkling than this one. Happy New Year! It's a new beginning, and as I was saying, beginnings are hard. There's a lot of expectation that comes with them, and we always feel that we should only be excited about new opportunities and grateful for them. In reality our emotions might be mixed. I'm here to say that finding starting something tough is normal. So normal in fact that the Germans made it into a proverb. You may be finding the start of this year hard, in which case I want to tell you, that's ok. If you're having your best January yet - go you! But if you're not, due to fire, flood or never-ending pandemic, you're not alone. After that super pragmatic, low-key pep talk, I want to tell you about something I am excited about starting the year with, and that's my new workshop offering! No spoilers here, you'll have to read on to find out more... |

About me This month's color is blue. Bright blue skies. Basically, the colors of my Colorado winter are brown (when there's no snow), white (when there is), and blue (skies). Cross-country skiing is one of my favorite winter activities and this is us up in the high mountains around Leadville. 100 years ago this area was a mining town, now it's a playground for snowmobiles and skiers in the winter and hiking in the summer. Interesting fact: 100 years on, the trees that were cut down still haven't started to grow back at this altitude. |
