Why timber is better than building law thinks it is
Timber Construction 2020: We have developed building systems and engineered all necessary functions and safety dimensions. We know how it's done. Safely. What is holding us back?
👉🏼 Most building codes and regulations that timber buildings are subject todo not reflect the technical and technological possibilities of modern timber construction.
Therefore, at Build-in-Wood, we are working on an open-access overview of the different regulation sets in EU countries about: 🔥 Fire Safety 👂🏼 Acoustics 💡 Energy Efficiency
EU Building Regulations
Building regulations vary a lot between EU member states - and have a huge impact on what can be built. Check out our blog article now!

Statement Rob Marsh, Head of Sustainability:
"At C.F. Møller, sustainable architecture means we have a natural focus on the life cycle assessment of building materials and on timber construction to reduce the environmental impact of buildings. As the architects of the Kajstaden, Swedens tallest mass timber building, and the new German Ministry of Environment in Berlin, one of Europe’s largest timber buildings, we bring our expertise in designing timber buildings to the cross-disciplinary approach of the Build-in-Wood project."
"At Rothoblaas, we develop technical solutions in the areas of fixing, waterproofing and acoustic comfort to optimise the construction process of wooden buildings. This competence, in combination with our expertise in connection systems allows us to make a multidisciplinary contribution to Build-in-Wood. We believe a world with more timber buildings is a better world to live in!"
