"BRINGING RED BREEDS TOGETHER"

2019 IRDBF CONFERENCE IN AUSTRALIA

We've got the welcome mats ready on our farms for visitors.

Actually quite a lot of us have - 18 farms across four states of Australia!  As a novel inclusion to the conference planning, some of our Australian Red Dairy Breed members have volunteered to host guests before or after the official conference tour for informal farm walks.  If you are staying around for some extra time and would like to see some more Australian Red Dairy Breed herds, you are invited to make personal contact with members to arrange a private visit. Wherever you go in the world, we guarantee that farmers love to talk "cows", especially red cows!

Introducing our first confirmed speaker

Dr Andrew Hoare (BVSc) of South East Vets, Mount Gambier South Australia plays a vital role in dairy herd health around the Limestone Coast district.  Andrew will be presenting a session on "The economic cow, performance and limitations in pasture feeding compared with housed cows."  Something for all of us to consider in our breeding programmes in view of differences in our weather zones and farming methods.

Hamilton's Run will be another of the herds visited during the conference days in March 2019.  Graeme is passionate about breeding both attractive and efficient red dairy cows.  Come and see Graeme's hard work which delivered him Runner-Up Cow of the Year 2017 for Australian Reds.
