Dear DIPP Stakeholders: Happy holidays! It’s hard to believe that we are at the end of another year. As we look back over 2017, we’re pleased with all that we as a stakeholder network have been able to accomplish through the DIPP, and we look forward to seeing projects like DNR’s Deal Island shoreline dune reconstruction project come to fruition in 2018 and 2019. We will start 2018 off by finishing the current Sea Grant Project, which will be completed by the end of January, and we will continue to follow up on actions to address ditch maintenance and flooding concerns. We’re looking forward to seeing where DIPP heads next, which may expand collaborative work to local area churches with support from the new NOAA COCA grant, and/or through other activities to be determined. Regardless, we anticipate the new year to be a successful one. Wishing you the very best this holiday season, and throughout the new year. We'll see you in 2018! Sincerely, The DIPP Team |

DIPP Survey - Thank you!! Thank you again to all of the DIPP stakeholders who filled out the 3rd round of the DIPP survey! We cannot tell you how much we appreciate you taking the time to complete this for us. Your responses are critical for helping us understand how collaboration works through the DIPP process, and they will help us tailor future project activities to better meet a range of needs and interests on Deal Island and beyond. A big thanks to each of you. We will be spending January analyzing the results, and will share the findings with you at a future community conversation. If you received a link and still have not completed the survey, you still have a little time! We will leave the survey open until January 4th. Even if you have not been active in the project, we would still very much appreciate your input as a DIPP stakeholder. Questions? Email Liz Van Dolah: vandolah@terpmail.umd.edu |

Upcoming Practitioner Workshop DIPP team members Sasha Land, DNR, and Jen Dindinger, Maryland Sea Grant Extension, will be hosting a workshop on January 24th to share the "DIPP Experience" with other practitioners in order to provide tips and insights on how to engage with local communities in targeting socio-ecological vulnerabilities, such as flooding and erosion. The meeting will be hosted in Annapolis. For more information, please email Sasha Land: sasha.land@maryland.gov. |
