Hand-Knotted Prayer / Meditation Beads Did you know that regular contemplative prayer and meditation can change your brain? Researchers are still figuring out how, but the benefits are good! Sew with Josefina Make something special with the multi-talented Josefina using beautiful fabric scraps and notions in our shop. We don't know yet what she's got planned, but we are sure it will be wonderful. So come, be surprised and be inspired! No sewing machine experience necessary. Ages 10 & up. Every Thursday, 4 to 6 p.m. |
|
Our Recent Closure & Your Donations You may have noticed we had some snow. Last week's winter storm closed the shop for two days. We apologize for any inconvenience, but your safety comes first! Our closure didn't slow donations though. We've surpassed 9 tons of sewing and needlework-related materials you've helped us save from landfills. Thank you! |

Coming to a wall in our Susan B. Anthony neighborhood soon: the work of Wall Therapy artist Olek! Many crocheters are collaborating with each other, creating a few hundred brightly-colored, 2-foot squares that will be attached to each other and hung on a wall near our shop. Interested in participating? Contact the folks at Wall Therapy and see how you might get involved. You can learn more about Olek's work here. |

Tatting with Patti In French there's just one word for both frivolity and tatting: frivolité! But we think this dying art of intricate, lacy knot-making is anything but frivolous. Come in and knot with Patti, who usually knits. Bring your own tatting shuttle, or use one of ours. We'll supply the tatting thread. Monday, April 10, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 4 to 6 p.m. |
