Happy Afternoon Room 115 Families,
I hope your Monday is off to a great start!
It was wonderful connecting with many of you last week to discuss your child's progress in kindergarten. Please always feel free to reach out with any questions, thoughts, or concerns. Ensuring your child feels safe and happy in kindergarten is my top priority, as we prepare them for their next exciting journey into first grade.
Last week, our classroom adventures took a delightfully spooky turn as we delved into the world of Creepy books by Aaron Reynolds. We wrapped up with "Creepy Crayon," and the kids had a blast sharing which story they found spookiest. We explored the concept of 'creepy' and even had the chance to write about something that gave us the creeps.
Later in the week, on Thursday and Friday, we had an exciting pumpkin investigation! Putting on our scientist hats, we measured the height, width, lines, shape, and stem of pumpkins. The kids made predictions about whether a pumpkin could sink or float, identified different parts of the pumpkin, sequenced the pumpkin life cycle, and, on Friday, we had a hands-on experience by opening up pumpkins to count the seeds. A big thank you to the families who provided the pumpkins for our exploration – it was a messy and marvelous time!
We're gearing up for some fantastic Halloween celebrations and our 50th day of school this week! Please take a moment to read the note below about our upcoming 50th-day festivities.
Wishing you all a week full of spooky smiles and delightful surprises!
Warmest regards,
Ms. Clark
