Design Review Corner

Exterior Lighting:

The design intent for exterior lighting is to encourage exterior lighting practices and systems that will minimize light pollution, glare, and light trespass; conserve energy; maintain night-time safety; and preserve the irreplaceable beauty and majesty of our diamond studded cobalt velvet drape of night – the dark night sky.

All exterior lighting is subject to DRB approval and must meet the more restrictive of these guidelines or Town of Eagle lighting regulations and, except when in actual use, all exterior lights must be turned off from 11:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m.

Submittal Deadlines:

The volume of applications received for review has necessitated a change to our submittal deadlines to allow for appropriate review periods. Applications for New Construction, Preliminary reviews will provide a six week review. New Construction, Final reviews or Major Modifications will provide a three week review prior to any Design Review Board meeting. Applications for Minor or Moderate Modifications will continue to be reviewed and processed in the the order they are received by our team.

These revised deadlines will take effect beginning with the October 19 DRB Meeting. All applications, supporting materials, plan sets, and payment will be required to be received by the submittal dates to be considered for the appropriate meeting dates.

Applicants are reminded that they may submit their applications at any time prior to the submittal deadlines. 

Scarecrow Design Contest

1st Annual Eagle Ranch Scarecrow Contest runs from October 2 through October 25. Eagle Ranch residents, organizations, and businesses interested are able to enter a scarecrow to be placed on Capitol Street and Sylvan Lake Road in Eagle Ranch.

Participants must pre-register as space is limited. Registration must be done online using the link below.

The contest is open to individuals, businesses, organizations, and clubs. There is no fee for entry.

All scarecrows must be dropped off at the Eagle Ranch Office between 12:00 p.m. September 25 through 12:00 p.m. September 29.

Designs

All scarecrows must be designed so that they will stand upright and supplied with materials necessary to display them in an upright manner.

Scarecrows must be in good taste and appropriate for viewing by the public and families. Must be absent of adult, political, and religious themes. No frightening, scary, violent, gruesome, or bloody entries will be accepted.
