Kelly Burns: ORAC's Extraordinary Woman of the Year! |
We couldn't be more proud of our very own Board Member, Kelly Burns from TRI-AIR Systems, who was the first ever recipient of the ORAC Extraordinary Woman Award at the ORAC annual Women Empowering Women in HVAC/R event! Kelly received multiple nominations from various people across the HVAC/R industry. Volunteering to encourage women that are joining the HVAC industry has become quite a passion of hers, all the while, she runs an entire company and ensures that all her employees are looked after, both in the office, and out in the field! She's a fantastic mother, wife, sister, aunt, boss, colleague… and now also, an ORAC Extraordinary Woman. 🏆Congratulations Kelly! ✨ |

We were thrilled to attend our first in-person event since we launched earlier this year. Our booth at CIPHEX West plumbing and heating tradeshow in Vancouver, BC was a great success! We were overwhelmed with the positive response from everyone who stopped by and spoke to our representatives: Maggie Wallace from Filtration Group and Jessica Bannister of Cam Cool Refrigeration. Most people were interested in our organization, intrigued by what we’re doing and wanted to get involved. We have a long way to go, but the journey has started and we have a lot of support. The tides are changing and it’s an exciting time to be a woman in HVAC/R - or any skilled trade for that matter!! It's time we work together to level the playing field. |

Work Wear: A Perfect Fit - Mechanical BusinessBrandi Ferenc remembers walking onto one of her earliest job sites 17 years ago when she started her career as a refrigeration mechanic, wearing the only workwear she could find in her size. "It was men's clothing, and it was very uncomfortable," she recalls. |
