1. Women have better memories than men as they subconsciously pay
attention to more details.
2. Studies suggest that the presence of estrogen in women makes
them better suited for endurance sports. Men are typically faster
because they have greater muscular power and are generally
heavier, so they have more force, but women have more efficient
muscle metabolism.
3. A study from McGill University observed that a woman's pain
threshold is nine times greater than that of a man (not a big surprise
to most women).
4. Women listen with both sides of their brain (left side is associated
with listening and speech, and the right side is associated with
creativity and expressiveness). Men showed brain activity
exclusively on the left.
5. Women tend to have a longer sigmoid (lower portion of the colon)
and because of reproductive organs they have less space, so the
digestive system does not have as much room to expand when
troubled by gas or food, and therefore women experience more
distress in the midsection. I have always suspected that women
have more guts.
6. An olfactory researcher has shown that women are able to identify
when a person is stressed out with their nose (especially with their
partner). They can detect odors released by stress hormones at
very low levels.
7. If a woman drinks the same amount of alcohol as a man, the
woman will experience more hangover symptoms and will get
intoxicated more easily. This has nothing to do with a physical size
difference, but rather with the fact that a female body has less
water to dilute the alcohol and produces less of the stomach
enzyme alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH) that breaks down alcohol.
8. There are theories suggesting biological reasons why women tend
to cry more easily than men. Women's tear glands may be bigger
and have more prolactin, which regulates the development of tear
glands and aids in the production of tears. By the age of 18, women
have 50 – 60% more prolactin in the blood than men.
