NGPC Round 7 GLEN HELEN

OCT 31 - NOV 1

NGPC returns to Glen Helen for round 7. The series is winding with just two rounds left after round 7. Tension was high as 3 teams were in the fight for the 250 title. We had a 1 point lead against the PC Kawasaki team and 9 points on SLR Honda.

Mason Ottersberg just took over the points lead in 250 pro coming into this weekend and unfortunately is now out of the championship due to injuries sustained in Blythe. Tyler Lynn was sitting 5th in the championship and Thomas Dunn is holding it down in 6th finishing the year with us for valuable experience for 2021. Justin Seeds sits 9th in pro after some costly DNF's early in the year.

TYLER LYNN

1ST

250 PRO

Tyler fought hard for this podium. He had a mid pack start and found himself running  with the top 3 for the first quarter of the race until he fell and put him back a couple positions. He got into some good battles that were holding him back until after the pit. He finally got out front and started to fight for the lead, but just didn't have enough time to make a move.

In his words: "I got off to an alright start and made some key line choices right off the bat that would get me inside the top 3. I just stuck with them guys and tried finding a flow. Going out on our 3rd lap I made a costly mistake by swinging wide for a corner and tried to cut inside to make a pass for 2nd when I clipped his rear wheel which ended up taking me out. I got up going as quick as I could but got passed twice in the process which would put me back to 5th. It took me a bit to find a flow again but when I did I made up a lot of ground on the top guys and put myself back into podium reach. Had some good battles and ended up 2nd just 3 seconds off of first. Pumped on how I rode and excited for Primm in a few weeks. Thanks to all that make this dream possible."

THOMAS DUNN

4TH

250 PRO

Thomas Dunn switched to the 4-stroke this weekend and immediately looked good. He rode a pretty flawless race with consistent laps and found himself finishing in 4th place. We are using this valuable time to prepare him for next season.

In his words: "This weekend was another step in the right direction and the first time on the 250f. I got off to a good start and was around 4th into the second turn. Made a little mistake and got pushed back to around 9th going up the first hill. The team and I had a really good pit and I was able to make up some time. Made my way to 4th and was feeling more comfortable on the bike every lap. Learned a lot and looking forward to the next round."

JUSTIN SEEDS

7TH

PRO

Justin rode solid laps, but being a home town track for most of these guys he just didn't have the pace to run upfront. Everyone spread out pretty quickly and not a lot of mistakes were made to tighten up the field. He looked strong the entire time, just didn't have the extra speed to make up the time.

In his words: "Start was great until I got pushed around and then off the track putting me in the back of the pack. I was able to move my way into 6th and then had a crash that put me back to 7th. Unfortunately with dust and a fast track I couldn't make up much time and had to take a 7th for the day.  I feeling more and more comfortable on the bike and am excited to end the year strong."

CAITLYN KURTZ

2ND & 1ST

WOMEN'S EXPERT

Caitlyn was at it again. She rode great and gained more important experience to propel her forward. Every race picking up more confidence and speed she didn't have before. We expect great things from her over the next few years.

In her words: "Round seven of the NGPC series at Glen Helen was a fantastic Halloween and race weekend. Saturday’s race in Women’s Expert went great with an amazing start, however I stalled a few turns in which pushed me back from the pack a little bit. I managed to catch back up and pass into second place where I remained even after I crashed. Sunday went well, I had an okay start but was able to make the pass into first a few laps in and managed to keep the top spot in Women’s four-stroke open A and finished the race with my head held high."
