Haiti is still experiencing extreme civil unrest. In this difficult time, our donors are more important than ever. It is because of you that Kay Blada and many other Haitian non-profits have been able to continue operating. Many NGOs have pulled out or reduced their programming, and several humanitarian relief efforts have not been allowed into the country.

Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement celebrated the Tuesday after Thanksgiving - December 3rd. Last year, donations were estimated at over $400 million in the US alone.

This year, any donation that you make on Giving Tuesday will also come with a personalized letter for a loved one that a donation was made on their behalf.

MEET A COLLECTOR
 
Dieunette "Man Belo" Pierre is one of Kay Blada's full-time employees at the facility in Hinche. Every day, she helps collectors weigh their plastic, makes sure they get paid, and then sorts and cleans the plastic.
 
"People are really happy when they bring in the material. They say that it’s something that was going to be wasted, and they collect it and bring it here to make money with it. They thank God for that.
 
They come to sell their plastic collection so they can get some money for the day. Some of them get up in the morning, they don’t have something to eat. They bring in some plastic so they can go buy themselves some food.
 
What I enjoy the most about the work is the sorting. Because I can do that and talk at the same time."
