Dear Parents/Carers,
Welcome to the September edition of Heart News. The new term has started very positively with students settling into school routines and great study habits.
Study Club
Study Club has started again and has been well attended by students from all Year groups. This is very pleasing and shows that girls are committed to their studies and want to complete any work they have been set.
Study Club is a voluntary after school club where students of all ages can come and work on homework or catch-up studies with the help of teachers in our Library area from 3.30 – 5.00pm Monday, Tuesday and Thursday (Wednesdays after October half term) and Friday until 4.30pm. Study Club is particularly useful to those students doing GCSE courses as it provides them with another opportunity to revisit the work done in class. Study Club has at least 3 teachers each evening. There are different subject specialists available each night, but the staff are there to support students with homework/tasks across all subject areas. The club has PC and printing facilities. The Study Club timetable is available on our website.
Extra-Curricular Offer at Sacred Heart
Just to remind you that we have a huge extra-curricular offer here. Having worked in many schools throughout my career, I can say that at Sacred Heart, we have possibly the largest and most varied range of activities after school and during lunchtime of any school I know. Students have had an assembly encouraging them to attend at least one club, which will broaden their horizons and allow them to meet and make new friends.
Please follow the link to our school website for all the information, which can be found in the Extra Curricular Booklet for Autumn 2023:

School Website
Our website is updated regularly and has a wealth of information for both students and parents. Please spend some time looking at the website, especially the ‘Parents’ and ‘Students’ tabs as some of the questions you raised in the parental survey can be easily answered by visiting the website. www.sacredheart-high.org
Personal Development
We also have a Personal Development blog that is updated regularly with news, events, school trips, sport and school success stories.
Contact details
Just a reminder that if you move house or change your mobile phone number, please update school as soon as possible by emailing any new details (including your daughter's name and year group) to enquiries@shhs.org.uk or by ringing the school office on 0191 2747373.
