We are gearing up for Summer Camp

The STARs Club students ... our emotionally intelligent bunch ... have completed the Big Life Journal. The goal of introducing and immersing students in social-emotional learning has been met. Great job 👏 👏 👏  to all club members! Kudos to Sis. Jummy and Sis. Zaynab who co-facilitated and instructed students though the course.

Summer Camp 2021

Before you know it, summer will be upon us. This summer,The Aafiyah Project will be offering virtual and hybrid (online & in-person) summer camp sessions. The summer camps will provide a social and scholastic environment that allow children to connect with old friends, interact with new ones, and learn life skills in a safe environment.

 

Kids Camp: Key areas of discussion include growth, bravery, sharing

STARs Camp - 1: Key areas include social-emotional learning, body systems

STARs Camp - 2: Planned field trips to land conservation site & NASA

Senior STARs Camp: Key area include emotional intelligence, college/career preps

What We’re Up To

 

The Senior STARs will continue with the Financial Literacy theme with Brother Hamzat. Students will begin making investment decisions and engage in real-time trading. Club meeting dates are Sunday May 2 and 23.

 

The Aafiyah Project will host an Eid-ul-Fitr / end-of-school year Party for the Kids Club and STARs Clubs on Saturday May 15 at 2 pm. Please note that his event is limited to students officially registered in the clubs.

In this month's Sister Village virtual brunch (Sunday, May 30), the maternal guides will be discussing how women can prepare and optimize their health for a successful pregnancy.

 

Our maternal guides include Ramotalai Coker (public health expert); Dr. Muneera Fontaine (doula & educator); and Dr. Rashida McCain-Hall (board-certified & ObGyn trained family medicine physician).
