RRR's May Newsletter

Exciting things are on the horizon...

Hello my bookish friends!

First of all, I'm sorry May's newsletter is a little late. If you follow me on social media, you know that May has been a hard month for me personally, and I'm dealing with a ton outside of my writing. Unfortunately, that means that there isn't a ton of new things to report that happened in May, but check out what's on the horizon!

Check out May's newsletter so you can catch up on everything you might have missed from RRR...

Novella Coming this Summer

Have you read my short story Irish Whiskey yet?

If you haven't, you'll have a chance to read the extended version later this year, and let me tell you, this one has all the spice!!!

". . . I hooked my finger under her chin, forcing her eyes to meet mine.

“You’re right, Dublin to be exact.” I leaned into her, caging her against the wall of boxes. “Let me tell you five things I know about you, Love… One–You smell like vanilla and coconut.” I leaned in and took a deep breath, inhaling her scent which I was quickly becoming obsessed with. “Two–You’re strong and feisty, but your eyes tell me you’re actually very fragile. And maybe you need someone to take care of you for a change.” I brushed my hand up the outside of her arm. “Three–You twirl your hair whenever you’re trying to think of a comeback… or when someone makes you nervous.” I brushed a stray lock of her red, curly hair behind her ear. Her vibrant green eyes—which reminded me of the sprawling green hills behind my childhood home—closed at the light brush of my fingertips on her cheek. “Four–Your lips taste like strawberries.”

“You can’t...” she breathed, but she was cut off by my lips crashing into hers, inhaling the words. . ."

What else are we up to

My Two Cents...

In 2023 RRR's Blog "My Two Cents" has become popular. So popular, in fact, we have some award-winning authors and professional editors who agreed to join our ranks as guest bloggers throughout the year! Our goal is to have at least one guest per month and we're off to a great start!

May's Post was from professional editor, Heather Hudec, of Simply Spellbound Edits. Read her informative piece Heather’s Two Cents on How to Keep You and Your Editor Happy for tips on dialogue/dialogue tags, dashes, and capitalization.

We will also see a piece from her later in the year on the different types of editing, reasonable costs, how to find your fit, and what a writer's expectations should be; so stay tuned for that!

Coming up on Sunday, June 11th, we have award-winning author Valerie Tayler. Her romantic comedy trilogy: What’s Not Said, What’s Not True, and What’s Not Lost, is available now wherever you buy books! And her informative piece Valerie’s Two Cents about Moving from Hybrid to Self-publishing explores what to "consider when choosing how to publish your book (your goals, network, and pocketbook)."

If you haven't already, don't forget to check out February, March and April's guest bloggers as well:

February: Author/Editor Lisa Fellinger-Finding the Courage to Share Your Writing

March: Actor/Writer Zolund (Zee)-Lee My Last Day, With You

April: Author Lashun Williams Thirst For Self: A Writer's Journey to Self-Discovery

We have some other great writers lined up to post in 2023, so stay tuned for a great year!
