From the Pastor Sympathy Our dear friend and fellow church member, Dr. Mitch Carnell, passed away this past Monday. Please remember his family, especially his son, Michael Carnell, and his daughter, Suzanne Smith, in your prayers. The service to honor and give thanks for MItch's life will be in our sanctuary today, Saturday, February 4, at Noon. The service will be live-streamed for those who may not be able to attend.
February 2023 is off to a fast start, February is already upon us. As we began the new year, we outlined a number of priorities. We are stepping into these goals for us as we work together to serve the Kingdom of God in our city and around the world. We began the year with the highest missions offering in our history, now over $108,000 to support our mission work around the world. We had training for how to better communicate our faith on a personal level, as we hope to see many others come to faith in Christ this year. We continue to make worship and the study of God's Word a major focus of our church life. Tomorrow afternoon we have an ad hoc group of deacons and Long Range Planning Committee members who will assess the needs of our beach house as we look to make updates and improvements. We aim to serve those who come for retreats to more deeply engage in their faith in Christ. Although it's less of a goal and perhaps better described as the DNA in our church, we are grateful for the many deep friendships that are forming as we study the Bible together or volunteer together or worship together. Growing "together" to love and serve Christ is what makes our church stronger, what gives hope to those around us, and what brings greater glory to God. I look forward to worship with you tomorrow, as we exalt his name...together. |

Current Women's Wednesday Night Bible Study 6:15 pm in 48 Meeting, Rm 208 "He's Where the Joy Is" by Tara-Leigh Cobble It's hard to know a God we don't understand, and it's hard to love a God we don't know. But our God wants to be known and loved, and He’s told us a lot about Himself in the pages of His Word. |
