What to expect
Nature's elemental qualities find expression within each of us. Our inner cosmology holds the key to inner balance. This series will give you the direct experience to balance your elemental self. Each week we will focus on one celestial body, through discussion, classical mantras from the Yoga Sutras, guided meditation, and a gong shavasana. You will receive a different 30-minute contemplative meditation each week, and four recorded mantras before the series begins.
Each week students will get a recorded meditation, and they will receive 4 recorded mantras before the series begins. In this workshop, we will connect with the planetary power through classical yoga, meditation, and the yoga sutras. We will dedicate each session to one planet. By focusing on each planet’s true character, we experience those characteristics as they’re expressed or suppressed in the psyche. This will be our joyful work together.
In each session we will practice a foundational meditation to balance the planetary body within. We will cover these planetary aspects using yogic psychology, astrology, meditation, sound, and simple asana. Meditation experience is highly recommended, but no astrology expertise is needed. Meditations will be recorded, so students who need to miss a session will have it to practice with during the week.
Students should bring notebook, cushion or backjack for 30-minute meditation.
