Death Positive DC

October 23, 2020

Dear friends,

I didn't want October to end without sending you a short monthly newsletter....and wishing you a very Happy Halloween! I had so much fun sending out Halloween cards for the first time this year. I'll definitely do it again next fall!

Last week, Jamie Arthurs and I hosted a death cafe for the Arlington public library. About a month ago, Mina Devadas and Valoria Walker hosted a BIPOC death cafe for Death Positive DC. On Tuesday, October 27th, I am having a gathering for death cafe hosts. Details and registration are here.

Next month, Robert "Hoff" Hoffman is going to offer his legacy workshop through Death Positive DC. I also hope to organize another BIPOC death cafe. Stay tuned for details.

If you love Halloween like I do, I hope you can find a safe and fun way to celebrate that works for you, your family, and your community. This Halloween is extra special because we will have a full moon on October 31st for the first time in almost 20 years! This moon is called a "blue moon" because it is the second full of the month. It's also called a "hunter’s moon" because it is the first full moon after the "harvest moon," which was our full moon on October 1st.
