Futures4Europe Newsletter: March 2024 |
Dear foresight community, Welcome to the first Futures4Europe newsletter edition of 2024! We’re kicking off the March edition under the umbrella of the newly launched, EU-funded project Eye of Europe - the Research and Innovation foresight community, which carries forward the endeavours of its forerunner, 'FOD European R&I Foresight and public engagement for Horizon Europe’. Eye of Europe aims to enhance the integration of foresight practices into Research and Innovation (R&I) policy making across Europe. We are incredibly excited to keep expanding our community, and have new members join futures4europe.eu and showcase ongoing or recent projects and insights on future sensitive topics. Whether you are a seasoned foresight expert or a newcomer to this field, we encourage you to publish on the platform what you have been working on or learned recently. Speaking of sharing, this edition highlights the latest posted content from the community, namely policy briefs stemming from case studies on big tech, civic resilience, and green skills and jobs, as well as global foresight projects and initiatives. The new section Eye of Europe Coffee Corner presents foresight insights from the Eye Consortium, whether in the form of an interview or a personal piece. Be sure to take note of upcoming events at the bottom of the newsletter and to encourage others to subscribe and join the community! Stay future curious! Sincerely, The Futures4Europe Team foresight community, |

🚀 Eye of Europe Kick-off November 2023 saw the official launch of the EU-funded project Eye of Europe - The research and innovation foresight community. For the next three years, this project will pave the way towards an R&I foresight community that brings together practitioners, experts, policymakers and foresight enthusiasts alike. Leveraging the experience of 18 partners across Europe coming from all walks of foresight expertise and practice, the project will integrate mutual learning and sharing of practices among foresight practitioners and R&I policy-makers, mobilise diverse stakeholders in joint pilot activities, and engage an active, broad audience in deliberating and shaping future imaginaries. Eye of Europe will continue the work undertaken by its predecessor, ‘FOD European R&I Foresight and public engagement for Horizon Europe’. More specifically, the online platform futures4europe launched in early 2023 will carry on its function as the heart of the foresight community, undergoing further upgrades towards mapping organisations and experts and sharing foresight results and capabilities, as well as an amplifier for current foresight activities and events. Eye of Europe will also continue the series of Mutual Learning Workshops on R&I foresight, which have been carried in 2022-2023 as part of a dedicated Policy Support Facility.
