Dear Reader, Wish you a Happy World Youth Skills Day. Let’s reaffirm our pledge to equip the youth of our country with the right skills and access to promising opportunities. This year, the theme is ‘Transforming Youth Skills for the Future’. Further to our story in the last edition, we continue to deep dive into the compelling tale of 22 women electricians, trained at one of our centers. We present to you the extraordinary story in their own words Other than this, this month’s issue brings to you an array of reports ranging from the booming gig economy in India to two global reports on the world of work and skilling trends. The ‘Voices from the Ground’ section features one of our teammates who traveled to three districts of Maharashtra for a unique pilot program that aims to improve the communication skills of the youth through the use of artificial intelligence enabled software. |

Where there is a skill, there is a way! Vadgaon, a village near Aurangabad, Maharashtra, experienced a social ripple effect when a small group of girls broke the bias and got trained as electricians at Pratham's multiskilling centre in Khultabad and influenced other girls in their village to follow suit. This World Youth Skills Day, we celebrate the success of this 'village of female electricians' and commemorate their journey of empowerment by acquiring employable skills. |

Youth's Readiness to Digital Learning Pratham in collaboration with Amira, an EdTech Company is working on a unique pilot program in Aurangabad, Ahmednagar and Latur districts of Maharashtra, where the goal is to improve English communication skills using Artificial Intelligence software. "Just because families have devices and connectivity doesn’t automatically mean learning is happening effectively.” One of our team members shares her experience on the field, as she spends days quietly observing and actively facilitating this program. |
