DSxHE has lift-off! Photos from our launch 📸

Doesn't time fly... it's already been almost a month since our *official* launch event 'Health Equity: What has Data Science ever done for us?' We're super excited to share some of the fantastic photos from the evening. If you attended the event and haven't had a chance already, we would LOVE to get some feedback from you as we are just starting out so we are very keen to learn and improve. Plus we only have 3 questions so it should only take you a few minutes max! Here's the feedback form.

We want to send our huge thanks to everyone who made it all possible: the event partners, Genomics England and the Alan Turing Institute; the folks at Marble LDN for making everything go so smoothly, our incredible team of volunteers (Ellen, Mei, Reham, Darcy, Ahwaz, Abraham, Wale, Matthew); the superstar line-up of panel experts (Sarah Henry, Veline L'Esperance, Vishaal Virani, Alisha Davies, Natalie Banner) for the excellent Challenge Jam; the legendary Sir Michael Marmot for his thought-provoking keynote talk; and of course all the attendees, both in-person and online, for bringing all the wonderful energy and ideas that really made the event what it was.

The calm before the ...? Preparations began early in the afternoon to make sure the awesome venue (The Loading Bay in Shoreditch) was ready in time for the 5pm start.

Check out the snazzy name badges!

The panellists introducing their Challenges to the audience.

Deep in discussion. The attendees split into teams to take on a Challenge set by the panel experts.

Following proceedings online - we had over seventy people joining virtually!

Live illustration. Digital artist Ralph Mann gave us his creative take on the event _as it happened_.

We were thrilled for Sir Michael Marmot to deliver the keynote on the social determinants of health.

Food time! First up, Lebanese wraps...

Then some delicious South Indian curry.

And for dessert: deep-fried ice cream, because why not?

Conversations and cocktails flowing.

Finishing it all off in style at the pub next door.
